Welcome Remark

Welcome to the Optical and RF-MEMS Lab with Prof. Hiroshi Toshiyoshi and his colleagues. We are a research group within the CIRMM*1 located at the Institute of Industrial Science (IIS)*2, the University of Tokyo*3, Tokyo, Japan. Our research interest is in the optical and RF (radio frequency) application of MEMS technology.

You may find our research topics (accomplishment and on-going) at Research. Our lab life can be sampled at Lab Daily Life page. Click on the links on the left to find more about us, such as Members and Publication.

Our lab accommodate graduate school students (master and Ph.D course) within the EE (Electrical Engineering) course of the University of Tokyo. Entrance exam information and lab topics for candidate students is at research high-light. We also undertake the ITP (International Training Program) for Young Researchers entrusted by the JSPS*4; in this program, young researchers higher than the master-course can be dispatched to our oversea collaborating labs. We also join the G-COE*5 program of the EE department of the University of Tokyo.

Integrated MEMS Study Group

JSAP *6 has lounched a new study group on integrated MEMS in 2008 for the promotion of MEMS-LSI integration. The 1st group meeting is organized on July 10. See the HP for more information. Our lab faculty is one of the committee members.

• Daisuke Yamane has won the Gold Prize of the student paper award for his presentation "A Dual-SPDT RF-MEMS Switch on a Small-Sized LTCC Phase Shifter for Ku-Band Operation" at Asia Pacific Microwave Conference 2009 in Singapore. 2009-12-10.

• In a frame work of JSPS project, we visited Taiwanese CMOS-MEMS research sites such as NCTU, NTHU, CIC, TSMC, APM and UMC in Hsinchu area, after which Toshiyoshi visited ITRI-South in Tainan. 2009-03-23
